Chabelle International, LLC is one of the leading suppliers of
Philippine products in the US. Since its founding in 2003, it
specializes in importing and distributing Philippine products like
Christmas Capiz lanterns, religious statues, fine jewelry and
novelty items to Asian (primarily Filipino) retail and wholesale
stores and other channels. Chabelle also has a network of direct
sellers that allow their products to be easily accessible and
available to more consumers.
Chabelle International is an offshoot of Chabelle Enterprises, which
was founded in the Philippines in the late 1980s and operated by its
founder, Beta Tarachand. The company first entered the US market
when it exported marionettes to the US. These marionettes became an
instant hit in US Trade and County Fairs resulting in growing sales
throughout the 90’s.
In early 2000, Beta Tarachand moved to the US and eventually set up
Chabelle International LLC. The company is owned and managed by Ms.
Tarachand and her husband Ed. Four other members/employees support
the company's sales, marketing and administrative needs. The
company still maintains its Philippine presence with an employee in
Manila who manages the purchasing, quality control and export
logistics of the Philippine products.
Beta Tarachand now has more than ten years experience in business
ownership and operation. Ed Tarachand has over 6 years of
experience in co-owning and managing Chabelle International LLC.
Before joining his wife in Chabelle, he had 12 years in managing
national-level distribution for pharmaceutical and consumer products
as Vice President for Metro Drug Distribution Division and 20 years
experience in sales and marketing management of consumer and
pharmaceutical products as Managing Director of Lederle ( a
Philippine subsidiary of American Cyanamid).
Chabelle distributes to retail stores, wholesalers and a network of
direct sellers. Its distribution area focuses in Northern
California, with growing product sales in Southern California and
Las Vegas, Nevada. The company has enjoyed steady grown and is on
track to generate sales of half a million revenue by early 2009.
